New Delhi: Three terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam in an operation that was launched a day after a police constable in the same district was kidnapped and killed.
"Three bodies of terrorists recovered with three weapons so far from encounter site," said Director General of Police, J&K.
The encounter, however, is still underway.

Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Khudwani area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir after receiving specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
The official said the search operation turned into a gun-battle as the militants fired upon the forces, prompting retaliation.
The gun-battle is going on, the official said.
The police said some people have started throwing stones at the security forces.
Yesterday gunmen barged inside the residence of constable Mohd Saleem Shah and abducted him. He was taken to an undisclosed location and his body was later recovered from near the ghat at Odipora in the southern district.
The body of a Jammu and Kashmir police constable was found in Kulgam district on Saturday. Earlier in the day, he was abducted, allegedly by unknown militants from his house, a police official said.
ANI reports that the bullet-ridden body of the constable " Saleem Shah " was recovered from Qaimoh Gath area in the district. Shah was undergoing training in Kathua, and was on leave when he was abducted, according to NDTV.
The incident brings back memories of the killing of Indian Army jawan Aurangzeb, whose bullet-ridden body was found at Gusoo in Pulwama a day after he was abducted. Aurangzeb, a native of Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, was picked up by the militants while he was heading home for Eid, officials had said.
Aurangzeb belonged to the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and was posted with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Shadimarg in Shopian, officials said.
