Mathura, Jul 20 (PTI) Three men reportedly drowned after their car fell into an irrigation canal in Uttar Pradesh’s Barsana town, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday night when Veerpal (35), Rakesh (28) and Brajesh (35) – residents of Palwal, Haryana – were returning home after performing Parikrama (circumambulation) at Gahvar Van, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shrish Chandra said.

According to police, their “speeding” car fell into Nandgaon Rajwaha and the three could not move out of the vehicle, as its doors didn’t unlock.

“The trio was fished out after breaking the windowpane,” they said, adding the victims were rushed to Kosi Kalan hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, police said. PTI COR MGA MGA
