225 new COVID-19 cases in Noida; steep rise in active cases

Noida (UP), Apr 9 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Friday recorded 225 new cases of the coronavirus that pushed the district's overall infection tally to 27,821, official data showed. This is the highest single-day rise in cases of COVID-19 in the district this year.

The number of active cases is 940, according to the latest data. Gautam Buddh Nagar's active caseload was 743 on Thursday and 652 on Wednesday.

Twenty-eight patients have been discharged with the overall recoveries reaching 26,013 in the district, the fifth highest in the state, according to the figures released by the Uttar Pradesh health department for a 24-hour period.

Gautam Buddh Nagar currently has a death toll of 93 with a mortality rate of 0.34 per cent. The recovery rate of patients reached 96.18 per cent on Friday, the statistics showed.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh reached 48,306 from 39,338 on Thursday while the overall recoveries reached 6,06,646 and the death toll reached 9,039 on Friday, the data showed. PTI KIS ANB ANB
