Japanese carmaker Suzuki has revealed the all-new Suzuki Swift Sport at the ongoing Frankfurt Motorshow. The car was revealed in a shade of yellow, just like the previous Swift Sport's were.
For the first time, the Swift Sport gets a turbocharged engine instead of a naturally aspirated one. The engine in question is a 1.4-litre Boosterjet unit that is tuned to make 140hp and 230Nm of torque. It drives a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels only.
Over the regular Swift, the Swift Sport features a redesigned radiator grille, a new bumper design, a front lip spoiler, side skirts, a rear diffuser, 17-inch alloy wheels and dual exhaust pipes. On the inside, it gets leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching, bucket seats, 'Sport' badging, stainless steel pedals and red highlights in multiple places.
The new Swift will be revealed in India at the 2018 Auto Expo and we expect Maruti to also bring along the Swift Sport. While the previous two generations of the Swift Sport were never launched in India, there is a genuine buzz in the industry that the new Swift Sport could be coming to India after he regular car is launched.
