New Delhi, Oct 20: After celebrating grand Diwali in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday visited makeshift Ram temple and offered prayers at the disputed place. He also met head of Ram Janmaboomi Nyas ( a body related to the construction of the Ram temple) Nritya Gopal Das, who claimed that time to build Ram temple is very near. Das also asserted that in 2018, Diwali will be celebrated at the temple with Lord Ram in it. (Aur agli Dipawali Ram Mandir me Ram lalla virajman hon aur usi roop me manayi jaayegi)

“Ram Janmabhoomi par mandir ka nirman bilkul nikat aa gaya hai… isliye pehle se hi Dipawali mana kar ke swagat kiya gaya hai (Time to build temple on Ram Janmabhoomi is very near… that is why Diwali is being celebrated to welcome it),” Indian Express quoted  Nritya Gopal Das.

Das was hopeful that the construction of controversial Ram temple will start during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Yogi Adityanath’s Grand Diwali

UP CM Yogi Adityanath celebrated Diwali at a grand level in  Ayodhya, which was highly criticized by the Opposition parties including, NCP, Congress.  Adityanath hit out at his political rivals and averred that no one possess the right to question his faith. “This is my personal faith and how can opposition interfere in this?,”Yogi said.

“They make negative remarks on every good work. Those who never thought about anything good, who had never done anything good, who lack positive and creative thinking … how can it be expected that they would speak good about any good work?,”CM Yogi hits back at the Opposition.

What the Opposition had alleged?

Nationalist Congress Party General Secretary Tariq Anwar said that the CM should spend from his own pocket rather than spending money of the state’s people for his ‘personal faith’. Meanwhile, Janata Dal-United leader Ali Anwar slammed the event and said the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to cover its failures by organising such large-scale events. Congress leader also slammed the U.P. CM and said if it is Yogi’s personal faith than he should celebrate it in private and not as the Chief Minister.
