14 passengers travelling from UK test COVID-19 positive amid the scare of mutated virus strain

14 passengers have been identified so far who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the midst of the scare of new virus strain. It should be noted that over the past few days, the United Kingdom has experienced a new strain of COVID-19, prompting several countries to avoid flights from and to the European country.

They have been given the option of quarantine and paid quarantine. In the meantime, Secretary of Health J Radhakrishnan of Tamil Nadu said the state administration is rigorously inspecting and tracking foreign passengers entering the country.

Though Saudi and Oman have suspended all international flights, the Indian government has suspended flights to London. A mandatory RT-PCR test will be necessary for all those arriving from London and they will have to remain in institutional quarantine until the results of the tests arrive in Chennai.
