12 govt offices in Alibag default on Rs 40 lakh water tax

Alibag (Maha), Apr 3 (PTI) Twelve government institutions at Alibag in Maharashtra's Raigad district have not paid water tax worth Rs 40.54 lakh to the local civic body in the last six years, a top official said on Saturday.

Of them, the biggest defaulter is the Civil Hospital.

Its outstanding water tax amount is Rs 36,68,800, Alibag Municipal Council president Prashant Naik said.

The other offices include Alibag tehsil office, Zilla Parishad, panchayat samiti, veterinary hospital, small savings department of Raigad collectorate, he said.

These offices have not paid Rs 3,85,650 water tax in the last six years, he said. PTI COR NP NP
