London, Oct 23 (ANI): Yahoo's chief executive Marissa Mayer has pointed out that the firm has yet not capitalised on the mobile opportunity, and it would become predominantly a 'mobile company' in the future.
Mayer admitted that Yahoo needs to rapidly overhaul how its website appears on mobile devices and slim down the number of applications it offers.
"Yahoo! hasn't capitalised on the mobile opportunity. At some point in the near future, Yahoo! will be predominantly a mobile company," Mayer said.
According to the Telegraph, Mayer, who had earlier worked with Google, also stressed that the firm can be revived by improving its search, news and email services.
She said that the firm requires no 'giant pivot' to revive itself.
"I don't think this is a situation in which there's a giant pivot and we go into a completely different business," the paper quoted Mayer, as saying.
Her remarks came during her first conference call with Wall Street analysts since taking the top job in August this year. (ANI)
