After bagging two scholarships Puja, in 2000, launched her label ‘pujaarya’ as an attempt to rejuvenate Indian handicraft, especially hand block printing. She has adopted a family of printers with whose expertise she continually experiments with printing which is also the label’s USP.
This season, her collection, ‘90% heart 10% Cotton, draws from bohemian and hippie influences and brings to ramp a distinctly folklore look with tent dresses, neck-knotted blouses in soft chiffon, cropped embroidered jackets, tunics and fluffy patchwork skirts in colours such as chocolate brown, deep burgundy, bright yellow, chutney green with accents of pink, green and black. As always the collection focuses on block printing with hippie border prints and geometrics like stripes and polka dots. The embroidery has distinct boho-chic sensibility – colourful, almost bordering on exotic.

Puja Nayyar has worked with international design labels like Alexander McQueen and was chosen to showcase at the ‘Asia Fashion Week’. The label is known for its edgy and linear style, always experimenting with new techniques of construction. Currently retailing from its flagship store in Delhi and various multi-designer stores across India; the brand also has international presence in Japan, Paris, Milan, London and New York. This collection is symbolic of change and transformation. High on surface texture the collection is a representation of the brand’s signature style. An inspiring slotting of silhouettes and fabrics, make it a nostalgic series with varied chapters hidden inside. The colour story travels from white and ivory, to blacks, charcoals, pouncing through fuchsia, ochre, midnight blue, touching metallic, steel with sumptuous amounts of chocolates and browns.

Rabani & Rakha has grown into an innovative design house over the years and the label is now sold in the finest boutiques in India & around the world. The design teams of Rahul & Shibani Rastogi along with Gautam Rakha have been working consistently to make the label gain a critical appeal from fashion insiders and the elite clientele. The collection for the season will reflect a rich and warm look underplayed in terms of colours.

‘Rajdeep Ranawat’, the label since Oct ’2004 is synonymous to women with an aura of glamour and charisma. ‘art to wear’, deeply inspired by nature as the foremost mentor, the embellishments and embroideries with the use of exquisite materials in terms of silk and metallic threads, beads, pearls, sequins and Crystallized - Swarovski elements. Silhouettes generic to all sizes, fabrics only pure, prints that are original, embellishments so rich, indeed enough to make a dazzling statement...The collection, ‘Pocahontas’ based on the Native American Red Indian girl inspired by Haliconias, Roses, Pansies, Chrysanthemums and the Lotus is enough to add ensembles dipped in couture.

Currently based in Delhi, Rajesh Pratap Singh belongs to Rajasthan. Subsequent to graduating in Design, he worked in the fashion industry before introducing his line of men’s and women’s clothing in 1997. Rajesh’s unique signature style draws subtly from his roots to make artisinal clothing with miles of stitch detailing, yet strikingly modern with clean lines. Rajesh has also showcased his collections at Paris Fashion Week. Domestic presence takes the form of eight standalone flagship stores across India. Internationally, the brand retails through selective boutiques.

Rajvi Mohan launched her own self named label in India in 2005. Rajvi graduated from The London College of Fashion, London, England (Menswear specialty) and Parsons School of Design, New York and worked for many prestigious design houses like Armani Exchange, the ITC Lifestyle Retail Business Division, Ghost Menswear Pink Hill and Vivienne Westwood. Rajvi design aesthetic is of sophisticated, fun and quirky designs for the discerning male client who lives and works in a global space. She retails from her studio at: CUGF 6, Jumbo House, Okhla Phase 3, New Delhi 20.

Raman Vij is a well-known fashion designer from Punjab. He is famous for his structured jackets and formal men’s wear. He launched his label Raman Vij in the year 2000. Raman Vij is currently retailed from its own flagship store in Ludhiana. He’s got a long list of hi profile clients from India and abroad. He is best known for his in depth knowledge of knits. His passion for knits made him win a scholarship to Nottingham Trent University in the year 1997. He bagged the ‘Best Knitwear Design Collection Award’ in passing out show of NIFT Delhi.

Ranna Gill’s Autumn/Winter 09 Collection is a treasure chest of sparkling colours. Peacock blues are married with gleaming emerald greens and sensual wine berry. The tones are inspired by the foliage of trees and fruit special to the season of autumn. To heighten the impact of these strong colours are hints and touches of brave black. This clever twist allows for a subtle emphasis of the main shades. As always, Ranna fuses an interesting blend of textures and fabrics to create spectacular silhouettes.
