Witnesses describe last moments of Anuj Bidve 'for not answering question'

London, Dec 29 (ANI): Witnesses, who watched Indian student Anuj Bidve dying after being gunned down by a stranger in UK, described how they desperately fought to keep him alive.

Bidve, 23, a micro-electronics postgraduate from Lancaster University, was shot in the head without any reason, as he walked with friends near their hotel in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Monday.

According to the Daily Mail, an eyewitness driving past the scene in Salford, revealed that she 'just kept on trying to keep him breathing'.

Bidve was walking with his other Indian friends towards Manchester city center, where they were stopped by a man who began a short conversation with the victim before taking out a handgun and blasting him at close range.

Witnesses claimed that he killed for not answering a simple question - What's the time?"

They said that Bidve had responded politely, but the man pulled out a gun, placed it against his head and pulled the trigger.

Residents and politicians of the city where Bidve was gunned down have said that they are 'shamed' by the incident.

Council leader John Merry urged the community to 'unite and name the gunman whose actions brought shame on the city'.

"The community will only get over this if they come forward with information that will help convict the person responsible," he added.

Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police are questioning two youths aged 16 and 17, and a man in connection with the 'unprovoked' murder.

A police source said the youths were 'connected to the shooting', but were not believed to be the gunman and his accomplice. (ANI)

I think the Britishers ruled our country enough. Cannot forget how they treated us in our own country. If law of karma is to be believed, one day we will give it all back. All these incidents add to our pain further. So stupid! What whites?? Don't they eat, shit and die? All rubbish! They wud not exist without other countries at all. A day will come, India will become the super country and all these goras will work for/under us.. here in India. Then, remember what they did!

nice thought but i dont think thats goin to happen as 50% of indians are already work for foriegners here in INDIA and the rest youth are aspiring to be one of them to work in INDIA under a foriegner , thats reality wake up guys

Well raakesh, do you know that may foreigners are also working for Indian companies in India as well as US and other countries? Indian economy and democracy is the best managed in the world I would say. We are not like China where 75% of the economy is based on Export to foreign countries. Our domestic demand is still the biggest share holder of the economy. That is probably why we do not get affected by the recession as much as other countries do. Also, so many Indian compnies employ foreigners in their own country. Some big companies have even taken over foreign companies. Also according to current records, most Indian students want to stay and work for Indian companies and not join multinationals anymore as it is where the actual growth and prospects are. I agree with Sarda, India will ultimately emerge as world leader economy one day.

What the heck guys? Come one these things happen in India as well. Some creeps here have also killed foreigners. So when something like this happens it is not a isolated event. It happens all over the world. Why do you say that we should not go to any other country? We get to learn a lot of things when you go to other countries and that is why we go there. Foreigners come to India to see its beauty and also to learn about it. I do have sympathy ( and a lot of it) for his parents. But that should not be generalized like this. Jack, you are right. One such incident and people just start thinking that nothing is right. I wont hesitate to send my son to go anywhere in the world. I have been to 15 countries and never seen hatred in anyone's eyes just because I am an Indian. In fact, everyone just loves it when they know we are from India. They want to know more of it.

Before you condemn Brits, just take a look at what is happening in India.I have many friends from North East India who have been racially abused by North Indians in Delhi both physically and verbally just because they have mongoloid facial features. One of my friend had been badly beaten up by a group of men for no reason.Indian hypocrites, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.If Indians are racially abused and murdered by other Indians in India. How can we condemn the act of a foreigner in their nation?

Racism was an obtrusive element of social hatred during the insurgent days of Ernest Powell some decades ago; but now has returned with a thunder to kill unarmed innocent Indian citizen leading a student life in the UK. Unlike other countries UK has abolished death sentence but if caught and convicted will let the " white" criminal go scot free or mete out a light punishment -- most probably. The UK has been just and fair in the past but currently the culture of the Great Saxon empire is bereft of such fine principles of consideration and justice. The Indian High commission should try to get the criminal so convicted taken to India for undergoing the life sentence. Vindicate the murder of the student.

Yes Sam or whatever, you said you will send your son to meet such incident or you mean to say you have not seen or come across such incidents but why should you forget inner heart feelings when some thing of such nature had happen to your friends or relatives. I had been to few countries. I always find and feel that what respect you feel at heart when you are at home country you don't find elsewhere. Some where insecurity remains there. Now come to what you need to live some times it looks better out side because probably you find better living conditions then at home. But still home remains sweet.I will say stay at home and live with chin up status nothing lacks in your own country. Ask people who have lost some dear one's, may be some of them had the same feeling as yours, but I am sure it will change for reality. Thanks.

I was in China recently I was in elevator a Chinese Gentle Said Pakistan and then he said friend. When I answered him about my correct nationality that I am an Indian he stared at me and spit in the corner of elevator and went out. Racist people are all over the world and particularly for generations United Kingdom is number one in this category. In past they divided the people in the name of religion, race, and color and ruled half of the world. Once I complimented a British Lady about her dress because it resemble to Indian Punjabi Suit she just said to me she will never wear it again because she does not want to look like an Indian.

What were his friends doing who accompanied him at that time? Where are they and how come they left without a scratch?

Something is missing and is not corelating with the entire incident?
