Wife, paramour arrested for murdering husband

New Delhi, Sep 26 (IANS) A 23-year-old woman was arrested here along with her paramour in connection with the kidnapping-cum-murder of her husband, police said Wednesday.

Neetu and her paramour Mahesh, 23, were arrested for kidnapping and killing Dhruv Kumar, 25, a scrap dealer.

Dhruv Kumar's brother registered a case of kidnapping Sep 20 the same day Mahesh was arrested from near Zakhira flyover in central Delhi. Neetu was arrested Tuesday after her name was revealed by her paramour as a key conspirator.

"Mahesh told police that he killed Dhruv Kumar in west Delhi's Bawana forest on the intervening night of Sep 17-18 with the help of his two associates, Kallu and Raju who were hired for Rs.50,000 from Basti in Uttar Pradesh," said V. Renganathan, deputy commissioner of police.

"Mahesh, who also belongs to Basti, is a driver by profession. He has been staying in the couple's neighbourhood for some time. Neetu allegedly developed an illicit relationship with him due to strained relationship in her three-year-old married life," said Renganathan.
