Colombo: India might have notched an unconvincing win against Afghanistan, but England captain Stuart Broad feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Co. are the most dangerous opposition in the World T20 and his side needs to be at its best if they want to defeat India.
The following are excerpts
Stuart Broad: It was a thoroughly professional performance from the guys… Awesome to start the tournament on a winning note… We batted with maturity… We thought the wicket would not help the batsman as it will become slow… But Luke Wright's innings was outstanding… Towards the end, the guys came in and struck the ball really well… It was exciting to see such a brilliant performance from the batters.
The innings will do Luke's confidence a world of good.
In this format of game, everything depends on how the team perform on that particular day… We need to make sure that we have a nice relaxed day on Saturday and turn up fresh and excited for Sunday… Because we know that India are a very dangerous opposition.
It's hard to call any international game a dead game… We'll be fired up and wanting a win against India… Actually, we need to be at our best if we want to beat India… And that's the only attitude to take when you want to cross the line.
Luke Wright: It was special evening… I was desperate to play well and win games for England… I'm happy that I could do that…
Nawroz Mangal: We have enjoyed the tournament. England played like champions… They outplayed us in all the departments. The start was good but we could not maintain it.
