PEORIA, Ariz. -- Two people were transported to a hospital after they were assaulted inside their Peoria home. Police are still investigating and have not released many details but did say the victims are a man and a woman in their 50s or 60s. They were discovered by someone who showed up at the home near Peoria and 91st avenues about 6 a.m. Friday. PHOENIX -- One person was injured in an early morning fire at Phoenix Motel 6. It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the area of Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue. GILBERT, Ariz. -- The Higley Unified School District athletic director was found dead Wednesday morning from what Gilbert police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
