HODGENVILLE, Ky. (WHAS) - A man is facing serious charges after police say he attempted to kidnap and rape a 10-year-old girl. According to police, 28 year-old Jetto Dye tried to rape and murder a 10-year-old girl who was visiting his home on River Road in Larue County with her mother late Saturday night. According to Trooper Norman Chaffins, the mother of the girl is friends with other family members who live in the same house as Dye. The girl was left at Dye's home where she fell asleep on the couch. D

The viewing of "Impact" comes just one day after the 25th anniversary of that crash. Twenty-seven people were killed when a drunk driver going the wrong way on Interstate 71 hit a church bus. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Jefferson County Public Schools have sent out layoff notices to 41 certified teachers in the system. School officials say they have to give notice by May 15 for the upcoming school year. Spokesman Ben Jackey says those layoffs are due in part to budget constraints, including a loss of federal funds.
