The West Sama-1 reserve contains about 6 billion cubic feet of gas.
The Nile Delta field is the first significant discovery of Dana Gas in 2012.
Patrick Allman-Ward, Dana Gas Egypt general manager, said: "The discovery will help Egypt meet its growing demand for gas."
