U.S. embassy in Thailand warns citizens of possible terror attacks in Bangkok

Bangkok, Jan 14 (ANI): The U.S. embassy in Thailand has warned its citizens about possible terror attacks in Bangkok.

In a statement on its website, the embassy urged U.S. citizens to "exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather in Bangkok".

"Foreign terrorists may be currently looking to conduct attacks against tourist areas in Bangkok in the near future," Xinhua quoted the post titled "Emergency Message to U.S. Citizens: Possible Terrorist Threat," as saying.

The embassy also urged its nationals to stay very alert at public places and report any suspicious object to the authorities.

"U.S. citizens are encouraged to maintain a heightened awareness when out in public; be alert for unattended packages/ bags in public/crowded places and report any suspicious behavior to the nearest law enforcement personnel," the statement said. (ANI)
