New Delhi, Oct 25 (IANS) Three people, including an elderly woman, were killed and seven people injured in three road accidents in the national capital, police said Thursday.
A 60-year-old unidentified woman was killed after she was hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing a road in south Delhi's Moti Bagh area.
"The victim was crossing the road near Charak Palika Hospital when the accident took place around 9.30 p.m. Wednesday," said a police officer.
The victim was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where she was declared brought dead.
The body has been preserved for post-mortem examiantion, which will be conducted after the victim is identified.
In the second accident, Surender, in his 40s, was crushed to death after a speeding car hit his autorickshaw around 10.30 p.m. Wednesday in east Delhi's Shakarpur.
Three people travelling in the car were injured as their car lost control after hitting the autorickshaw and ran into a road divider.
The car was impounded and the trio, reportedly drunk, were admitted to a nearby hospital, police said.
A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered against the car driver.
In a late Wednesday night accident, one died and four others were injured after their car rammed into a truck.
The accident took place in west Delhi's Alipur, after the truck driver suddenly applied brakes.
