Damascus, Sept. 20 (Xinhua-ANI): A Syrian military gunship crashed Thursday near Damascus' suburb of Douma, the state-news agency SANA said.
There have been no further words from the official media about the circumstances surrounding the downfall of the helicopter.
Douma has emerged as a hub of armed insurgency and a main battleground between the Syrian forces and the armed rebels.
Separately, SANA said Thursday that more than 100 Afghani fighters had been killed in a "qualitative" operation carried out by Syrian army at Bustan al-Qaser in northern Aleppo province.
It also said around 100 "terrorists" were rounded at the Palestinian camp of Yarmouk.
The recent incidents come as the violence and the urban fights show no sign of abating after 18 months of crisis, which have killed more than 23,000 people, according to activists. (Xinhua-ANI)
