    Sushma Swaraj terms BSP stint in UP as a period of open misrule

    Pratapgarh/ Etah, Feb 17 (ANI): Lashing out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj has termed the regime of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as a period of open misrule.

    "If I have to state my analysis on the Uttar Pradesh government in one sentence, then I will say that there is a hue and a cry everywhere, crime is prevalent and power is openly misused. This is the true story of this government," Swaraj told a gathering in Pratapgarh

    Swaraj also criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) party, saying that under Mulayam Singh Yadav's rule, criminals were free to do what they wanted at the expense of law abiding citizens.

    "After sunset, it was impossible for women to go out of their homes. Honest citizens would hide in their homes, while criminals would roam freely, this was the state of affairs during the Samajwadi Party's rule," she said.

    Meanwhile, Mayawati defended her BSP-led government, saying measures to tackle corruption had been implemented.

    "Because of our party, many of those candidates won the elections, who for personal gains took to unfair practices and made every attempt to malign the image of our party and government, because of which our party took strict action against these people. We also denied them tickets for these polls," Mayawati told a gathering in Etah.

    Mayawati also criticized the poverty alleviation programmes initiated by the Congress-led UPA government.

    "The schemes started by the Central Government for poverty alleviation in Uttar Pradesh and other states have been ineffective even after many years of their implementation," she said.

    The Uttar Pradesh polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major parties to re-establish their foothold in the country's fifth largest and most populous state. new 403-member state assembly will be elected in March. The poll results will broadly indicate trends for the 2014 general elections. (ANI)

      All opponents of BSP are uttering non sense to mislead and confuse the voters. Mayawati has done far better than many states to improve law and order and check crimes and corruption. But situations cant be turned from worst to best within no time. Even then she has done best. Even she has done much better to remove poverty and creating employment opprtunities..Opponents like Rahul, Mulayam, and BJP have launched just a vicious propaganda against her just to topple her govt. There is no truth in the allegations being levelled against her.
      By the way what good has been done to the nation by the NDA and UPA in the last 12 years? It is official that poverty has been increasing at the rate of 1.5 percent. Both Congress and BJP are imperialist parties favoring and promotiong interts of the rich. Their economic policies have benefiitted 20 percent of the upper strata of the society.Economic liberalisation, globalisation, privatisation programmes have done greatest harm to the common man. These policies have deprived millions of people of food, education, health and other basic ammenities of life. Today rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer. And there is a strong nexus between imperialists, polititicians and bureaucrats. This trio are hand and glove with each other and looting the nation. No amount of Lok pal bills or Courts can check corruption. People of the nation must set up trheir own courts in villages and cities where the corrupt are tried by peoples courts and punished.

        @ Sarita and Hiren----------you are quite right about Mayawati. Even , I have changed my views about Mayawati after looking practically into the kind of developments she has done in UP----the state which was kept purposely backward by the Congress in the past for so many years. People who nurse ill-will against Dalits criticize Mayawati without thinking logically. I am also not in favor of reservation but I at least think about the facts that------ who started it ? and who is trying to bring forward even the dirtiest face of reservation out by imposing it on religious basis.? I know what is what.

      I pity on you Sushma Ji, as your party BJP has given ticket to 1(one) Muslim candidate only and you brought an Uma bharti from MP to save face.. Why the opposition parties don't accept the fact that CM Mayawati is the best ever CM in UP who managed to provide an over 7% GDP even during these economic slowdowns..

      CM Mayawati is having better administrative skills, accompanied with refined social engineering capabilities, and her tenure of past 5 years provided increased growth (over 7% GDP), social harmony, improved infrastructure, education and Law & order conditions in UP..

      and instead of confrontation with CM Mayawati, opposition parties should cooperate her to continue working for the growth and uplift of the progressing UP...

      open misrule is better than hidden misrule of BJP .suhma behenji has a short memory....not long time back the BJP leaders were bending over backward to get rakhi tied by bebhen mayawati. the miscarriage happened when maya realised the truthe......that she is being taken for a ride! with growing age memory gets affected!!       Where was Suhmaji's BJP when th BSPmen were dancing jig of joy after erecting hundreds of status of living and dead humans as well as those of elephents and construting parks in desolate areas visited by none?Opportunits joind hands with her to hare power and she played communal cards to divide the caste ridden society that is UP There is no point in shedding crocodile tears during election times. Now the people will decide her fate in response to her misrule.
