Dubai, Feb 3(ANI): England captain Andrew Strauss has warned his squad to perform against Pakistan in the final Test match of the series or risk losing their spots for their forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka next month.
"Clearly you can't keep under performing for ever so all of us have a responsibility on their shoulders to improve our games," The Telegraph quoted Strauss, as saying.
He said in the England team should consider his place is secure and added that everyone has to perform.
"I've been a strong believer that no one is guaranteed their place in the England side and actually the environment only works properly if there is pressure on you for your place so we all have to work very hard over the next five days," he added.
England batsmen held meetings this week to work out a new strategy and Strauss believes the net sessions leading into the Test have helped to clear their minds.
"One of things you always do after losing in fashion we did last week is take a step back and look at things as clearly as possible," he said.
Strauss said they have recognized some flaws in their batting and the players are working hard to overcome them individually.
"There are some areas we resolved we needed to work on a little bit. We have changed our net sessions a bit to allow people to do individually what they feel they need to work on," he further added. (ANI)
