Imphal, Oct. 7: Southern Sporting Union came up from behind to beat Jsongtun Youth Club by 4-2 goals in the 7th Manipur State League at Khuman Lampak main stadium today.

Jsongtun Youth Club played hard, firing the first salvo in the 31st minute with a goal from Thangcha Kipgen in the first half.

However, in the second half, L. Gogocha Singh fetched the equaliser in the 47th minute and consolidated with a grounder in the 52nd minute for the lead.

Jsongtun Youth Club's persistent efforts paid off in the 60th minute after Thangcha Kipgen pushed home the equaliser in the 60 minute.

However, Riyaz Khan and Imran Khan struck the winning goals for Southern Sporting Union.

In another match, Kuki Sporting Club drubbed Eastern Sporting Union by 4-1 goals. Bony Laino proved to be showstealer, scoring all the four goals, while Th. Abungcha Singh fetched the lone goal for Eastern Sporting Union.

Anouba Imagi Mangal defeated United Sporting Association by 3-1 goals yesterday.

College volleyball

Dhanamanjuri College of Commerce emerged winner of the Manipur University Inter-College Volleyball Tournament at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium today, outplaying Manipur University by 3-0 sets.

In the men's final, Thoubal College beat Manipur University 3-0.

Tennis: The 2nd CYLC State Level Tennis Tournament 2012 will held be held from October 14-28 at the CYLC tennis court in Chingamathak.
