Islamabad, Dec 8 (ANI): A senior Al-Qaeda leader Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Hussainan has reportedly died in a US drone attack in Pakistan.
Al-Hussainan, who was killed in the attack on Friday, was thought to be a probable successor to Ayman al-Zawahiri, the Dawn reports.
According to a report by NBC News, Al-Hussainan was having breakfast when a missile fired from a drone targeted him in a Pakistani tribal region.
The senior militant leader's death was announced on militant websites and was later confirmed by US officials, the report said.
The report further said Al-Hussainan had been seen in numerous Al-Qaeda videos offering religious training to the group's operatives.
The videos were circulated by Al Qaeda's media wing Al Shabab, the report added. (ANI)
