Salman Khan's EK THA TIGER only 2 hours long

When a tiger attacks his target, he does so in one quick move rather than prolonging it for way too long. Well, it seems like this fact was literally adapted for Salman Khan's EK THA TIGER as well, what with his action thriller turning out to be the shortest film of this genre in last 12 months.

"Pick up any action film in the recent past, whether it is RA.ONE, DON 2, PLAYERS and AGENT VINOD or the latest release GANGS OF WASSEYPUR; each of these films have a running length of close to two and a half hours. However EK THA TIGER won't be as long. It would be just a little over two hours in duration," confirms a source attached to the film.

Apparently, Salman Khan was very sure from the beginning that his film won't have a long running length. After all, three of his biggest flops in recent times - VEER, LONDON DREAMS and YUVVRAAJ - had a duration of 150 minutes or more. Well aware of the changing taste of audience who like their action thrillers to be crisp and fast paced, Salman wanted EK THA TIGER to have all 'masala' packed neatly in two hours flat.

"Director Kabir Khan too was also on the same page even though he had to shoot across three continents, five countries and nine different cities. However instead of going overboard with the locations made available to him, he resisted from overshooting the film," the source adds.

A shorter duration has also been beneficial for producer Aditya Chopra since this would allow substantial addition to number of shows at multiplexes, hence allowing more moolah to flow in once it releases next week.

When contacted, Kabir Khan confirmed, "Yes, the film is only 2 hours and 10 minutes. It is a thriller and the duration is just appropriate."
