Colors today announced its big plans for its marquee format show - Bigg Boss. This year, the channel has signed both, the DABBANG Salman Khan as well as the MUNNABHAI Sanjay Dutt as hosts for Bigg Boss Season-5. This is the first time in the history of Bigg Boss in India that 2 top Bollywood superstars would be hosting the season.

Talking about Bigg Boss Season-5 plans, Ashvini Yardi, Head of Programming-COLORS, said, "Over the last 3 years, Colors has taken Bigg Boss to newer heights of entertainment and popularity. Now, with both Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt as hosts, we're sure that Bigg Boss Season-5's appeal will touch unprecedented heights."

Ashvini further added, "Given the way Bigg Boss has been performing over the last 4 seasons growing from strength to strength, this year we plan to leverage the chemistry and talent of Sanjay and Salman and with our plans on the content front, we are confident to make the show even BIGGER."

Talking about his association with Bigg Boss Season-5, Salman Khan said, "I greatly enjoyed working on Bigg Boss' last season and received a lot of positive response from fans and well-wishers alike. It's an exciting format that makes for compelling viewing and I am glad to be back for another season. I think it's a great move by Colors to also sign-up Sanjay Dutt for Bigg Boss Season-5. It can only mean one thing for the viewers - more excitement and a differentiated appeal for this season."

Commenting on his television debut, Sanjay Dutt added, "I am extremely delighted that I am making my foray into television through a concept like Bigg Boss - a show that holds a nation's attention for more than 3 months." He further added, "I loved watching Salman host the last season...I thought he was mind-blowing with his sense-of-humor and inimitable style."

Bigg Boss Season 4 was a runaway hit as over 90 million viewers from across the country tuned in for the series, the finale episode itself generated a TVR of 6.7. In fact, the TVR generated by the Bigg Boss Season 4 finale episode also managed to shadow the 6.1 TVR garnered by IPL final cricket match. The show has been growing from strength to strength right from its inception.

'Bigg Boss' presents the unique combination of reality and real unscripted drama. It is the ultimate reality show where 14 handpicked strangers are locked in a house, for close to 96 days - with over 50 cameras following their every move 24x7 and Bigg Boss, the ultimate authority in the house who ensures that their stay is anything but comfortable. As the 14 hand-picked contestants vie with each other to survive in the Bigg Boss house, irritation, backbiting and backstabbing reach its prime. This is one show that brings out the best and the worst side of contestants.
