By Glamsham EditorialOne hears of postponement of films but very rarely of a preponement. Those keenly awaiting the release of the laugh-out-loud comedy KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM have reason to rejoice. The film, originally scheduled to release on August 2, has been pre-poned by a week.
The Bhatts had announced July 27 for the release of JISM 2 but director Pooja Bhatt postponed the release to August 3, as per the original plan. Immediately following the announcement, Balaji grabbed the lucky weekend, which was also the time when Balaji's blockbuster ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI had released two years back.
"KYAA SUPER KOOL... is a keenly awaited comedy and we're glad to pre-pone its release for everyone who's been waiting for it. It makes business sense to have a clean weekend with no other film, in the interest of maximizing business," says Tanuj Garg, CEO - Balaji Motion Pictures.
Said a leading trade source, "The pre-poning of KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM works very well for it. The marketing of the film has long started and everyone is waiting to see Tusshar and Riteish together again. Further, being a Balaji film, it comes with a strong pedigree."
While Neha Dhupia and Esha Koppikar played the female leads in the earlier version, Sarah-Jane Dias and Neha Sharma are cast opposite the boys in the sequel that takes audiences on a mad road trip to Goa, this time around, in search of love.
Directed by Sachin Yardi, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM follows the story of how the leads maneuver their way out of crazy situations as the comic pandemonium unfolds.
While the music and satellite rights have been sold much before the release, the all-India distribution rights of the film too have sold for a whopping amount, beating the figures of several big-films much to the makers delight.
KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM starring Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma and Sarah-Jane Dias, comes to a theatre near you on 27th July, 2012.
