India, Sept. 17 -- Beautiful skin on the outside begins with good health from the inside. Your skin being your body's largest organ, it acts as a shield between the body and thousands of foreign substances that exist in the environment. It also helps excrete toxins from the body. As a result, it is subjected to toxic overload - both from the outside and inside, which can cause skin reactions. Skin reactions occur due to many reasons. The most common causes include allergy to food, cosmetics, reaction to sun, reaction to drugs, jewellery, stress etc.
Treatment for skin rash
If your rash is severe, accompanied by a fever, or has lasted for a prolonged period of time, then you need to consult a doctor. A visit to the dermatologist will help diagnose the type of skin rash and methods to cure it. Some of the home remedies for a skin rash are:
Skin rashes can be treated by applying olive oil to the affected skin. Coconut oil also has anti bacterial and anti-fungal properties and helps soothe the rash.
Drink a minimum of eight to 10 glasses of water every day to cleanse your body off drugs and chemicals.
Daily eat at least three coloured fruits that are rich in antioxidants everyday. Fruits like pomegranate, black grapes, cherries and strawberries are loaded with antioxidants and help in avoiding skin problems.
Mix two tablespoon of oatmeal with six tablespoon of milk and apply the mixture on areas affected with skin rash. It helps reduce inflammation.
Aloe vera has long been used to treat skin ailments. It has many nutrients and properties beneficial to the skin. Aloe vera is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent and provides anti-bacterial and anti-fungal aid. n You can use either the essential oil or boil tea bags. Chamomile also has anti-inflammatory abilities; it relieves the itch and irritation of most rashes.
Vitamin C has strong antioxidant properties that can help heal rashes and reduce the chances of subsequent allergic reactions.
For quick relief from itching and inflammation, soak a clean cloth in cold water. Wring it out and apply it on the affected area for 10 minutes. Repeat this procedure if required to obtain relief.
Drink 100 ml of wheat grass juice twice a day for three months. It helps detoxify the liver and reduces frequency of skin problems. When it comes to skin rashes, you can and you should combine several of the treatments to eliminate the skin rash as quickly as possible.
