London, May 12(ANI): Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Redknapp has denied reports that claim a deal worth 32 million pounds has been struck with the Catalan giants Barcelona for winger Gareth Bale.
According to reports from Spain, Bale is set to sign a five-year deal to play alongside star players like Lionel Messi, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas.
The Wales star has long since been on the La Liga giants' radar, and the Catalan club were believed to be stepping up their efforts to sign Bale, but Redknapp has quashed these rumours.
"I don't know anything about it, this is the first time anything's been mentioned to me. I haven't seen that at all and I wouldn't think there is the slightest bit of truth in that, wherever it has come from," The Daily Mail quoted Redknapp, as saying.
"Not a chance, I would not have thought. The Spurs manager's words will help appease growing fears among supporters that Bale could be allowed to depart White Hart Lane at the end of the season," he added.
