Export duty on steel item exports become effective tonight

New Delhi, May 11 (PTI) Government today notified the imposition of export duty on various steel items with a view to discourage exports to enhance domestic availability of steel products, which have been causing a steep hike in the wholesale price index. The exports of cold-rolled coil, hot-rolled coil and galvanised sheets will fetch an export duty of 15, ten and five per cent respectively, an official spokesperson said.

The export duty imposition would come into effect from tonight, he said. PTI.
