Sharif puts off return to Pak; talks with Zardari to continue

Sat, May 10 07:05 PM

H S Rao London, May 10 (PTI) Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif today put off his return to Islamabad by a day as his crucial talks with coalition partner and Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Ali Zardari made little progress in finding a solution for reinstatement of the deposed judges. After the first round of discussions last night, Sharif expressed his deep disappointment over the failure of talks so far but remained optimistic about resolving the issue.

"I and Asif Zardari have differences on certain issues and Asif has asked me for more time to reach any conclusion," Sharif told newsmen. He emphasised that the reinstatement of deposed judges is "our prime motive of movement launched against dictatorship and if this objective is not achieved then it would be a great setback.

" The two leaders are set to meet later this evening in a last ditch effort to find a solution and save the ruling coalition. PTI.
