Nandigram catches up with SRK

Kolkata, May 8 (PTI) Nandigram caught up with Shah Rukh Khan, owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, his wife Gauri, business partner Juhi Chawla and actress Katrina Kaif as they were stuck up in a traffic gridlock caused by a road blockade this evening by the Trinamool Congress to protest the violence there. The celebrities were stuck up in the traffic snarl at Topsia on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass as they were driving to the Eden Gardens from their hotel to cheer the Kolkata Knight Riders in their match against the Bangalore Royal Challengers.

"The police were able to take the team bus bypassing the traffic snarl, but the celebrities who were driving down in cars were stuck in the traffic jam for about 15 minutes," Deputy Commissioner (Traffic), Monoj Verma said. The jam was, however, cleared up and the celebrities were able to reach the Eden Gardens, he said.

The road blockade for an hour from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm by the Trinamool Congress also led to massive traffic jams at Hazra, Taratala and Kalakar Street in South Kolkata, Brabourne Road and Moulali in central Kolkata and also in areas in north Kolkata. PTI.
