Groundnut oil declines

Mumbai, May 3 (PTI) Prices of groundnut oil reacted downwards in the oils and oilseeds market here today due to poor offtake. Castorseeds futures also declined on lack of export enquiries.

However, refined palmolein inched up by mild local demand. In the edible section, groundnut oil dropped by Rs 5 to Rs 640 from Rs 645 previously while refined palmolein inched up by Rs 2 to Rs 538 from Rs 536 previously.

In the futures section, castorseeds June contract fell by Rs 21 to Rs 2,617 from Rs 2,638 previously after opening slightly higher at Rs 2,645. In the industrial section, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all closed unchanged at Rs 2,775 Rs 585 and Rs 640 respectively.
