Chennai,May 2 (PTI) After Shriya Saran, it was the turn of Mallika Sherawat to face the ire of Tamil Nadu's "moral brigade" which filed a police complaint against the Bollywood star over the issue of improper attire at a film function. Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK), a splinter group of the Hindu Munnani, lodged a complaint with the police yesterday, saying that Mallika's attire at the function to release audio-CDs of Kamal Haasan's new film 'Dasavatharam' in which Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Jackie Chan and Amitabh Bachchan were present had "hurt the sentiments of Hindus".

The actress was accused of wearing transparent and skimpy clothes. HMK actvist Kanirajan, in his complaint, also said Mallika sat cross-legged on the dais where Karunanidhi was present.

Besides Mallika and Shriya, actresses Shilpa Shetty, Reema Sen and Khushboo have incurred the wrath of the moral brigade before for various reasons. A few months ago, HMK had filed a complaint against actress Shriya for her choice of dress at the golden jubilee celebrations of Rajnikant starrer 'Sivaji-The Boss.

' However, she tendered an apology and the matter was treated as closed by the police. A case against Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen filed by a Madurai lawyer, accusing them of conniving with a local eveninger for publishing their pictures which were obscene in nature, was quashed last month by the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.
