Chennai, Oct 16 (IANS) A pooja was performed for Snopa Alex's upcoming women-oriented film "Vilappilsala" that shows how city-waste is being dumped in villages and spreading diseases.
Former minister P.K. Sreemathy lit the lamp at the ceremony at a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram.
The film shows how people living in a particular area suffer from various diseases and face other health hazards due to dumping of city's waste in the area.
The cast of "Vilappilsala" includes actors Madhu, Sai Kumar, Kochu Preman, Lakshmi Sarma, Sukumari, Ponnamma Babu, Aliyar, T.G. Ravi, Airport Madhu, Sanal Kumar, Kunjaiyappan, Ajay and M. Joy Chalakudi.
Alex's last directorial film was "Prathhekshayode".
Ananya working hard to compete with Deepika Kumari
After undergoing just five days of coaching, actress Ananya won the gold medal at the State Archery Championship and now she is gearing up to face Olympian Deepika Kumari in national level competitions.
The State Archery Championship took place at the Eranakulam Kaloor St. Alberts college ground Saturday.
Kannur's Arathi Joseph was her main opponent. The 25-year-old won after scoring 80 points. In fact, she took a break from Telugu film "Intinta Annamayya" to participate in it.
Ananya has now qualified for National Archery Championship where she will compete with Deepika Kumari. She is working hard to hit the bull's eye.
Before that she will have to attend a 10-day camp.
She entered films in 2008 with V.K. Praksh's movie "Positive" as Ayilya.
