UP polls: Noida authorities yet to get orders for covering Mayawati's statues

Noida, Jan 9 (ANI): As the deadline for the Election Commission's directive to cover the statues of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and her party symbol, the 'elephant', erected at parks and other public places across the state in recent years draws near, Noida State Development Authority officials are in a fix as they are yet to receive orders in this regard.

"No letter of permission has been received from the administration. We have not got any letter. We are a construction agency, we are conducting a meeting right now and when we get our orders we will cover all the statues," said Arvind Trivedi, Manager, State Development Authority.

"That is the order of the state government. If they ask us to cover the statues, we will cover them. If they don't want to cover them, we will not wrap them," he added.

Ahead of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission decided to cover the statues of Chief Minister Mayawati and her party symbol, the 'elephant', erected at parks and other public places across the state in recent years.

Last year, Mayawati had inaugurated the 33-acre park named after B. R. Ambedkar in Noida.

The park was built at a cost of Rs. 650 crores, and has statues of elephants, B. R. Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram and Mayawati. (ANI)

What's the big deal in it ??? After all, all so-called constitutional posts are all rubber stamps of the Indian-Italian mafia, stooping to the most wicked position by the present dirty Congress party, shameless MAUN Mohanji's ma'm, the party's Italian godmother, including even the PM, the President & so on. So, all such ridiculous actions are mere proxy by, for and with ' HER '. Any doubts, my good fellow citizens ???

It is a stupid act to cover the statutes of Haathi and Dalit Ki Beti as she likes to be known. This will ensure she is remembered and the symbol of her party while less educated and illiterate voters go to vote.

Beti will win with thumbing majority. That is my pre-poll analysis.

if all elephants are Mayavathi's election symbol what about the tri color flag? Should we remove Indian national flag because it has tri color? Can the election commission ban congress from using the tri color flag? Ask him to sit in a corner then. Multi begger

Center and EC should understand pain of general public. Covering of elephant and Mayavati effigy can't change the mood of general public. This is unnecessary expenses and EC is trying to satiate congress or EC supports congress. This is true now in Bihar and UP there is very very minimal chances for congress because of there past poor leadership and negligible progress, in terms of education and many more. Always tried to get support from Muslim but even muslim are in different stance. Looks like at present Mayavti is right candidate for UP if we compare Mulayam and congress. BJP is also good option but they have lack of leadership and party is full of chaos.

      1. EC should remove hand symbol of Congress and talk. 2. EC should learn how to hold elections within a week. 3. In UP itself, they could not decide a proper date for elections and now they have postponed the elections. 4. Do they know what they are talking and doing?

All the monuments and parks are a tribute to downtrodden communities by Bahen Mayawati Ji.. she is a symbol of Dalit pride and would always be rembered for her generousity and modesty.

Under the leadership of bahen Mayawati, UP has made tremendous progress which was invisible in past 50 years.. and she tried to give justice to every section of the Society and is highly respected within Brahmins and vaishya intellectual communities who understand her "bahujan hitay, sarv samaj kalyan' philosophy..

Mayawati must be quite pleased with the decision taken by Election Commissioner. Else all parties would question the sanctity of squandering 650 Cr rupees on the statues. Also she must be smiling from ear to ear that she got a good point for convassing during election ,

Mayavathi is the reincarnation of the devil, the Satan, the Dracula all put together. She drinks human blood that too of the poor people and eat currency notes.

Uncover the Maya who is looting the State and befooling the BCs. what is the use of covering her statue. she will gain one more issue to seek sympathy. Why not the Court order their removal for good on grounds that the public funds can not be spent for building personal image of the CM/PM through monumental structures??

It is not statutes my dear only statutes Built By Mayawati along with her own statues . SInce she is a living being hence statues of a living Persons can be used by that person. Actually statutes are built after the person is no more but she has built her own and for her mentors
using crores of Rupees (tax payers money) she used to built her own and her family members statutes. Though I disagree with election commission order because it will benefit her only . But it is a election commission's job to provide level playing field to all. Election commission is a constitutional body and doing its own job since the matter was brought to election commission by all opposition parties including congress, BJP, and Samajwadi party
      it took the decision.

it was late BSP founder Mr kanshi ram's wish to create mayawati's statues adjacent to his statues.. and very few people know that bahen Mayawati was first reluctant for her statues.

Devil created mayawati. She is too powerful for any missiles. Only congress can unseat her.
      • Hiren 4 months ago
the same god which created you also created bahen Mayawati..

show some respect to this great visionary who worked hard for every section of the society and became a victim of political conspiracy by Congress and other parties.

Decision of CEC is a right step because only those statues of elephant and Mayawati are required to be covered which have been erected by using public funds. The decision has been un-necessarily been criticized on ir-relevant and flimsy grounds. Why thousands of crores of rupees have been spent on erection of her statues when the state needs schools, hospitals for the poor ? Secondly, the Cente has always been criticized by her for not giving enough funds for development of the state-why ?
