Political mercury rises in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow/Aligarh/Gorakhpur, Jan 20 (ANI): With Uttar Pradesh assembly elections right around the corner, the political mercury has soared across the state, as parties and leaders engage in a war of words on a range of issues.

The polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major parties to re-establish or strengthen their footholds in the country's fifth largest and most populous state.n the fray are the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Congress, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Taking a dig at the BJP, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh slammed the opposition over its decision to give a ticket to senior party leader Uma Bharti-a firebrand politician from Madhya Pradesh.

"The complete hollowness in the leadership of BJP is evident in the fact that they could not find any leader who could lead the party in Uttar Pradesh. That is why, the BJP had to borrow a leader from Madhya Pradesh," Digvijay Singh told media.

Training guns at the party's principle political rivals, general secretary of Rashtriya Lok Dal-which recently joined hands with the Congress-Jayant Chaudhary asserted that the RLD-Congress tie-up was a viable political alternative for the people of Uttar Pradesh.

"The cycle (the political symbol of Samajwadi Party) has always splashed mud all over. So, they will also get stuck in the same quagmire. See, the thing is that the ultimately, people will decide. We can say all we want, but the power lies with the people. Our appeal to the masses is that if they chose candidates from the RLD-Congress alliance, they will find a new way. Otherwise, the same government will be formed that have always been in power earlier in Uttar Pradesh," Chaudhary told media in Aligarh.

Flexing political muscle, senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra exuded confidence that his party would emerge as the game-changer in the polls.

"I can say that the BJP is the only political party that has granted tickets to the candidates keeping in mind the importance of all castes and communities of Uttar Pradesh. On this basis, we have been able to give adequate representation to members of all communities, and so we will be able to get votes from all sections of the society. In the coming future, we will form an absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh," Mishra told media in Gorakhpur.

Polls in Uttar Pradesh are to be conducted in seven phases between February 8 and March 3. The counting of votes would take place on March 6.

Uttar Pradesh will elect a new 403-member state assembly in March, and the poll results are expected to broadly indicate trends for the 2014 general elections. (ANI)

The way Rahul Gandhi started canvassing and talking to people after Uma Bharti ‘s entry in UP election, it clearly shows that he is shaken and lost the battle before elections. He has to learn shamelessness, cunningness from his mother and party members.

Uma Bharathi is atleast Indian. She has right by birth to contest anywhere in India. But it is not the case for Sonia. She is not Indian. You congress leaders licking the Italian foot. Can't you find any leader in Congress who is Indian by birth?

An old saying that a country/institution which does not give justice to its people or which does not regard its learned ones, gets ruined sooner or later. A very strong corruption control law is most needed in whimsical judiciary and academics as documented herein. IITs NOT BEING WORLD CLASS INSTITUTIONS because it is well on record that IIT Roorkee’s once famous Civil Engineering Department had about a dozen full fledged professors who could never earn a Ph.D. degree or publish any significant research papers despite their best efforts and fullest administrative backing and this fact was well known to the Ministry of Education (now MHRD) who never viewed this truth with any kindness. On top of this, the academic administration of this IIT (the oldest former technical Higher Learning University of India/Asia), backed also by such non-PhD jealous virus professors, sabotaged (including plagiarizing) the research work of the highly internationally renowned professor colleague through all kinds of possible illegal actions manifested by as many as 20 to 30 writ petitions filed to nullify the illegal actions repeatedly taken without any regard of natural justice. These are well recorded facts also known to the MHRD. If an institutional index (integrated effect of the various Institutional components including the credentials of the faculty) or teacher/faculty index (integrated effect of the research potential, teaching ability, qualifications, etc of every faculty member) for all IITs are worked out and compared with world class Institutions, then the truth will come out. Merit is totally disregarded in the Indian system as manifested by the fact that India is branded as a developing third world country despite the fact that it has the highest manpower of highly qualified hard working genius persons in almost all disciplines in the entire world or on world basis. Thus the smaller but merit minded countries defeat us in cricket, diplomacy etc. Numerous examples will show that the merited ones in India will find their habitat only in the dust-bins. If India can rise above caste, region, and relative considerations and sincerely rely on merit then alone the IITs would become world class Institutions. A research paper entitled “A NEW METHOD OF EVALUATING TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH TEACHERS’ by Prof. Devendra S. Bhargava, published in the International Journal for Development Technology, England, Vol.5, 1987 pp.27-38, contents of which were comprehensively highlighted by the PTI news flash, can be of great help to compare the various IITs, their faculty, and their nearness to the world class. An Institution’s three main pillars, viz. the faculty, the students and the reputation are interdependent. This is proved by the fact that now the best students do not opt for Roorkee IIT which was in news for vulgar activities too. A recent case example manifests glorifies and testifies this aspect when the Hon’ble UttraKhand High Court at Nainital upheld (after intensive arguments) a reply to a RTI query made in the year 2007 that “an information pertaining to the year 1994 was more than twenty years old in the year 2007” (vide the Writ Petition No.726 of the year 2008) and such a whimsically arbitrary judgment could be given because the Hon’ble courts in India are not obliged to give reasons for their decision or judgment.

When Digvijay Singh issued statement that BJP had to Import Uma Bharati from MP, he forgot that he himself also hails from MP and is currently incharge of UP in Congress.

His Firangi Mother (Sonia Gandhi) has also been Imported from Italy to head Congress.

BHARAT JALO PARTY, BJP. Lacking unity within the party. There are serious issues as mentioned by yashwant SInha in recent days. Leaders at the centre as well as at a state level are not united. HOW WILL BJPP GOVERN IF ELECTED ? Question voters must ask before putting their vote to BJP. UMA BHARTI is nothing but a show piece of BJP, doing BHANGAGIRI with no substance in what she says. BJP HAS NO AGENDA for development.

VOTE CONGRESS FOR PROGRESS AND PROSPERITY.
    • sam  •  1 month 3 days ago
There is NO substitute for CONGRESS. CONGRESS is supported by a powerful organization, disciplined functioning of the party to provide PROGRESS and PROSPERITY to INDIA. BJP - BHARAT JALAO PARTY has NO AGENDA for development. BJP is nothing but leaders with loud mouth carrying the old style of BJP. BHONGAGIRI. UMA bharti is like a BHATTI or SIDDU, comedy circus artist. She can only activate old scripts written and narrated by bajpai or adwani, the shanai speaker. VOTE FOR CONGRESS IS A VOTE FOR PROGRESS.

Diggie is a joker of congress who keeps wagging his tongue although nobody (include his own party) asks him to do so. He's the first to sneeze when there is even symptom of the dust rising. How does it bother him whether BJP fields Uma Bharathi or any other candidate for that matter? Do they have to take his permission? Diggie is one of the useless leader like Mani Shankar iyer of Congress. Ofcourse, that doesn't undermine the uselessness of the entire Congress party on the whole which has been scoring high on corrupt leaders!!!
