Senior CPI (M) leader D Raja, today asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to own political, moral and administrative responsibility for the multi-billion coal scam. He also slammed the PM for the failure of his government in protecting the interest and rights of the tribal people. Raja also attacked the Congress Party, and Singh, who represents Assam in the Rajya Sabha, for the alleged failure to combat ethnic violence in the state which claimed nearly 90 lives and displaced 4,00,000 people. Raja claimed that extremist forces associated with Islamic fundamentalism, RSS and VHP were trying to communalize the conflict between Hindu Bodo tribesmen and Muslims settlers. less
