Congress has strongly refuted the corruption allegations made against Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law, Robert Vadra by Arvind Kejriwal and has termed the charges as "baseless and utterly irresponsible". Defending Vadra, Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said that Kejriwal has hit below the belt and he wanted to destroy the Congress by attacking the leadership, but he wouldn't succeed in his design. Echoing similar sentiments, Congress leader Jagdambika Pal said that Kejriwal's attempt to tarnish Vadra's image is a publicity stunt. However, the BJP sought an independent investigation into the allegations but the Congress dismissed them with 'utter contempt'. less
