An Australian man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison on Friday for the rape and murder of Tosha Thakkar, an Indian student studying in Australia in 2011.Thakkar's family was in court for the sentencing. In March 2011, then 19 years old, Daniel Stani-Reginald, raped and then strangled 24 year old Takkar to death with a cord in a boarding house where she lived. Stani-Reginald then stuffed her body in a suitcase and caught a taxi to the Sydney suburb of Meadow bank and threw it in a canal, Australian media had said. Stani-Reginald will serve a minimum of 30 years in prison, local media has said. less
