PCB chief seeks 'qualified head coach' to achieve 'next target' World Cup win

Islamabad, Feb 7 (ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has said the team needs a qualified head coach to win the World Cup.

Although he praised Mohsin Khan's as a coach, Ashraf said: "No doubt the team has achieved tremendous success under Mohsin. But we need a qualified coach. Our target is the World Cup for which we want to bring a qualified head coach."

The PCB has reportedly interviewed Dav Whatmore for the position and he looks the most likely to get the board's nod.

Former fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar, however, has demanded that Mohsin should be appointed as the permanent coach.

"Mohsin has gelled the team well. I don't see any reason to remove him and the PCB should make his appointment permanent," Akhtar said. (ANI)

If things are working well why change the coach? It's a very foolish decision. Obviously the team is doing well under Mohsin Khan. Idiotic decision making again in the sub-continent.. India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan run by Boards that are clueless. What has India got to show after the World Cup nothing but excuses top to bottom.

PCB is doing a blunder in appointing a foreign coach.. Mohsin Khan should continue. The same combination of team and coach should be retained. No foreign coach has benifited any of the ASIAN Teams.
