Washington, Sept. 5 (ANI): If your marathon time is just average, try converting it into Paul Ryan's time calculator, and you will be pleasantly surprised.
An average 4 hour and 26 minute marathon time will look more like a 3 hour, 12 minute and 51 second race.
According to ABC News, the site, paulryantimecalculator.com, cropped up after Ryan, a noted fitness buff, boasted to a radio host last month that in his younger days, he finished with a pretty impressive personal best marathon time.
"Under three, high twos. I had a two hour and fifty-something," Ryan said in an interview.
"Holy smokes," the host had replied.
Holy smokes indeed. That's a time that would blow most male runners, who average times of around 4 hours and 30 minutes, out of the water, the report said.
It turns out that Ryan has only run one marathon in 1990 when he was 20 years old, his spokesperson confirmed. He finished with a time of 4 hours, 1 minute, and 25 seconds.
"The race was more than 20 years ago, but my brother Tobin-who ran Boston last year-reminds me that he is the owner of the fastest marathon in the family and has never himself ran a sub-three," Ryan.
"If I were to do any rounding, it would certainly be to four hours, not three. He gave me a good ribbing over this at dinner tonight," he added. (ANI)
