    Padmanabhaswamy temple to open its 'C' vault on Monday

    Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 24 (ANI): As per the orders of the Supreme Court, the 'C' vault of the Padmanabhaswamy temple would be opened on Monday for the evaluation and detailed documentation of treasures.

    The Chairman of apex court appointed committee, M V Nair on Friday said: "Today we will prepare an inventory of the items in 'E' and 'F' vaults. It has been decided to open 'C' vault on Monday. That is the present decision."

    The decision was taken at a meeting of the experts' committee constituted by the Supreme Court for inventorying and scientifically documenting the priceless treasures found in the vaults of the temple.

    A group of experts appointed by the Supreme Court began examining on Monday treasures unearthed from the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple last year estimated to be around 22 billion dollars.

    The bare-chested men in white mundus entered the 16th-century temple under the steely gaze of armed commandos to draw up a list of jewels and coins discovered from five subterranean vaults.

    Using laser and digital archiving techniques, members of the panel will identify the treasures, standing for days inside a temporary control room created by temple authorities for the process to be completed.

    The sacks of ornaments, gold and silver coins, stone-studded crowns, idols and figurines inlaid with precious stones and jewels have an estimated value that is twice what India spent on education last year.

    A 22 billion dollar treasure trove unearthed beneath the temple had ignited a fierce political and public debate over ownership and how best to put the vast wealth to use.

    The 500-year-old temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is unique in terms of architecture and mythology, with legends of a curse protecting the long-hidden treasure.

    To its rareness, the temple possess six secret 'nilavara' A, B, C, D, E and F (vaults to keep the assets safely). Opening of each of these cavities reveal a virtual treasure trove with valuable ornaments, unusual antique silver and brass dishes and many golden idols of deities. (ANI)

        Yes you have said it . the 2g is enough to porve the saying. well if the lord's treasure is mishandled or looted then the results will be very bad for them . use it for developing the temple as the best in the world and do anna danams and make the best facilities for the pilgrims , all free . the money is the lord'd and it should be spent for him and his desiples only . or face the consiquences.

      The treasure belongs to the temple and the lord . The temple must be built up with temple valuables to make one of the world's best temples like our lord in thirupathi .with all good facilities for the pilgrims and the poojas . no sc or hc or govt has the right to use the treasure for any other purpose . if they do so and mishandle the money the results will be very bad for thier lives. And for the country . best is use the the riches for the temple and the lord and daily anna damam for the poor and the pilgrims. this the correct thing to do. om namo narayanaya

        some charlee was commenting that the SC and govt is only showing to the world the treasures of the temple . He comments that the kings looted the treasure and hid it there . Wonder if he was the miniter of the kings then .
        When a biggest 2G scammers can swallow and elephant or group of elephnts , where is the gaurentee they wont loot the Lord and the treasure too. Does anybody know where the previously opened three vaults
        treasure is ?? what they plan to do with it ?? well quote unquote the saying goeS . once bitten twice shy , goes well . The scammers are not Hindus too.

        ANYWAY IF THE INTENSION IS ON THE WRONG SIDE TO LOOT THE TEMPLE TREASUE , THEN RESULTS WILL DEFENETLY BE GRAVE. .

        God's wealth is the people and not yellow metal called gold which was smuggled into the temple by the erstwhile Maharajas of Travancore for its safety from thieves and looters. The gold is collected from the neighbouring Rajas by wars and plundering for which many soldiers laid their lives. The wealth belong to the people and the govt should release it and utilize it for the service of the poor in Travancore.

        Are u speaking sense Geevarughese? The Treasures were a result of hard work and good administration by kings. And most of them Gifted to Kings for their bravery and good admin. It is not a Public Property and belonged to the Kings alone. It is for the Kings to decide how to use the treasures and they rightfully gifted to the temple. Dont talk nonsense without knowing History........

        Geevarughese, you are right in bringing out the genesis of the loot. But it is not practical to prove the source and take it out of the temple funds. The wealth will be there. It is better to evaluate it and let the people know the truth abt the Maharajas.

      If the entire process of Inventory Documentation from Opening of the Treasdure Vaults till its conclusion is not put on camera with hour to hour Video of all this Exercise, then there would be a few Eyes Brows Raised and many would Question IdItalian Ship Parked near this Huge Gold Treasure was parked nearby with a purpose or this was on an undeclared

      The money belongs to the temple. The temple governance should remain in the hands of the family that the king had appointed. Congress government invariably puts governance of hindu temples in the hands of muslims, christians and low class people who hate hinduism. This needs to be stopped.

Her sister owns and operates stores selling Indian antique treasures that would be illegal to transport out of India. It appears, that Sonia just acquired new inventory with $22Billion to sell.       The one whowas responsible for this sinful and unholy act of meddling with God's property was already dead. Absolutely there will be no doubt that the same fate will come to those who ordered the openning of vaults and for those who supported this sin. It is not to late, even now the court can order to stop all these acts and leave the treasure as it is. Not only those who ordered the opening of the valuts will die but their family members will also meet the same fate because of the sinful act of the their family head.
