Melbourne, Nov. 8 (ANI): Stressed Aussies are trying to save time by emailing during intimate moments, washing clothes with a hose and putting dogs on a treadmill, a new report has revealed.
According to The MORE Report, more than 66 percent of adults are even going to choose a good night's sleep over having sex - but most would feel guilty about it, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The independent research, sponsored by Blackmores, showed just how much Australians are trying to fit into each day.
The research found that 68 percent of adults think life is getting busier, 61 percent said that they can't get everything done in a day, and 95 percent said that they woke up tired in the last two weeks.
However, 60 percent of adults said that they enjoyed working and 63 percent felt that working hard is important.
The survey of 500 adults aged 18 to 50 by Empirica Research also found that many respondents were willing to sacrifice things that made them happy and readily cut corners to squeeze more out of each day.
The research found that the Australians will go to crazy lengths to get everything done, using time-saving measures like Feeding children Weetbix for dinner rather than cooking, Putting kids to bed in the clothes that they will wear the next day, Googling health concerns rather than going to a doctor and re-wearing unwashed clothes from the laundry basket.
However, Pam Stone, Blackmore's director of education, said that these time-savers were a "deceptive trap".
"Corner-cutting doesn't make Australians happy. We are increasingly tired and actually feel guilty that we're neglecting the important things in life, like health and family. Yet we don't stop," she said.
Stone said the research showed that "tiredness and corner-cutting is the epidemic of our times." (ANI)
