Over 200 trains cancelled in Telangana

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (IANS) Over 200 trains scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Telangana were cancelled in view of the two-day rail blockade called by Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) to demand separate statehood for the region, authorities said Thursday.

According to a statement from South Central Railway, 55 express and 88 passenger trains have been cancelled.

The railway authorities have also partially cancelled 63 trains, including 33 express trains. They have diverted 55 trains and rescheduled four, which pass through the region.

The rail blockade has also led to cancellation of all 222 MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) services in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and 102 DHMU (Diesel Hydraulic Multiple Unit) trains in other parts of Telangana.

The rail blockade has been called even as over 10,000 buses of state-owned Road Transport Corporation (RTC) remained off the roads in the region for the fourth day Thursday.

The RTC employees are participating in the indefinite general strike called by JAC demanding the central government to immediately initiate process for formation of a separate Telangana state.

I have gone through lot of people opposing on what is happening. I do agree that there is lot of inconvenience for many people. Why are the people who oppose and are against Telangana try to understand the pain of 4 crore people. Do you think that people enjoy in making others suffer and especially our telangana culture will not allow to do that. WHO EVER DO NOT KNOW THE HISTORY OF TELANGANA AND THE LIFES GIVEN BY MORE 650 SHOULD SHUT THEIR MOUTH AND OTHER HOLES. WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY MORE.

Though I support creation of small states. But inconveniencing people is wrong and sympathy for the cause will suffer. Telangana leaders should exempt essential services like transport, eateries, hospitals, Delivery of Justice etc.,

The Telengan agitation is a total catastrophe for Andhra pradesh. Both the Telengana and Andhra people have the same language and culture and if there is any issue regarding the imcompatibility it could be the wealth part of it. What politicak keaders in Andhra want is to stick to the riches of Telengana . The central govt should not waste anymore time but restore the peace and normal life of Andhra by declaring a promise of Telengana in a year's time before the elections in 2014. Do not aggravate a simple and normal problem between two communities by delayed action.

This is high time the issue of Telangana should be resolved by creating a separate state as demanded. In my view, the parliament, while creating a new state three aspects are required to be seriously scrutinized; first one, will the integration of the nation remain intact after creation of a new state; second, will such newly created state be of sound economy & infrastructure as required by a state; and thirdly weather will it be in favor and does it help in speedy overall development of the people of that area? Creation of Telangana fulfills all the requirements. So why delay there? The glaring example is the decision taken by BJP, while creating three states in their reign. No vote politics; all political parties should follow policy based politics, not issue based policies. Don't make telangana an issue, rather make it a policy.

congress should say yes or no for the telengana to make a full stop for the issue.
ambiguity on this would worsen the situation in the state.

Re. 1/- per kg of rice.
Is Kiran Kumar Reddy going to produce rice in his backyard of home? Ridiculous.

Poor is becoming poor & richer is becoming mightier.

God save this country from these non-sense rulers.

On one side the telangana congress and other electected representatives are planning to quit their seats and other hand TRS and Congress have nominated persons to contest Banswada bye elections. The TRS did not expect the Re. 1/- per kg rice and lot of other schemes will be announced at this juncture, to save face on the telangana issue put up the candidate yesterday. It is an election Re. 1/- kg rice vs telangana issue. One have to wait and watch what the electorate of that constituency want? The centre and state is unmoved with the threats by its elected representatives and I feel that, these leaders instead of wasting public money and going to delhi for dicussion, they better resign from the primary membership, show their solidarity to striking employees and call a boycott the bye election which may force the TRS to withdraw its candidate. Can such thing happen? Sorry, we can't believe these politicians. The issue will drag for more months and common man is the sufferer.

People of Telangana have been subjected to exploitation over sustained period of 60 years after independance. This is singular cause for backwardness in Telangana on all spheres - Economy, Literacy, Human Development index, Agriculture, Employment, so on. Vested politicians are responsible for this. All those who were at the helm of affairs and pulling strings, should be made accountable and taken to task. They must be prevented from contesting elections for next 10 years. They must also be fined. Congress must stand by its commitment on Telangana - Won elections in 2004 by promising separate state in its Election Manifesto & listed it in CMP ( common minimum programme). The demand is supported by all coalition partners of UPA, Prinicipal Opposition party BJP & CPI. Why do they need consensus from political parties in AP? After all, States are created by Central act of Article 3 of Constitution. And Major parties in AP - Congress, Telugu Desam went to polls supporting Telangana in coalition with TRS. When it comes to act on its promise, it drags the issue citing Consensus, Committee reports, etc. How long do you want to fool the people. It is time, politicians came out of their cloaks and begin to Honor their own promises. After all, Telenganites are Indians, as good as any other. If you can't help them develop, allow them to do it on their on own. After all they are asking for a separate state and not charity. With every passing day, they are more enlightened

The promises of Telangana development have been made for the past 48 years in united AP. Before and after the formation of AP, Which promises were kept? Which agreements were respected? Which projects were implemented? Which principles were they bound to? From the first day of AP formation, till to-day, agreements are being broken. What were the united AP wishers do? Did they even express any concerns? How long should the Telangana people bear this and put up with this injustice?

Only people that don’t understand or like to conveniently ignore historical facts would ask such questions. Naxals aren’t the cause of Telangana backwardness. They are an effect of Telangana backwardness. Naxals came up in Telangana due to this region has been subject to continues neglect and systematic theft of its resources.
If Naxals are the reason, then districts where Naxals activity is less should be more developed than those with strong Naxals presence. Then why is it that Mahabubnagar where naxals presence was low is further behind Naxals strong holds of Karimnagar, Warangal and Nizamabad?
Similarly, why is Vizag one of the important centers of Naxals activity is a flourishing industrial center not just in state but also in the country?
How is the Kothagudem thermal station which is in the middle of forested area able to complete its expansion under the schedule?
How is National thermal electric center in Ramagundam (even though its electricity isn’t used for Telangana) operating without any problems?
How is the coal from Singareni mines being mined and sent to Andhra and Rayalaseema?
How are Andhra settlers that bought off locals are able to flourish safely and prosperously in many Telangana areas?
In Warangal forests how is AP rayons, a private factory, operating?
How are the cement factories in Nalgonda singareni coal belt, those established by the Andhra Capitalists, able to operate and make profits?
Who is responsible for the closure of Ajamjhahi mills, Sirpur sirsilk mills, Anthargam spinning mills, DBR mills, Alwyn factories, Republic forge, fourteen milk cooling plants? Didn’t Naxals object to such irresponsible Government mismanagement?
If Naxals are the cause of Telangana backwardness, how is the current Government who promised to complete all pending projects within three years in Telangana going to do it?
The cause of 1969 Telangana revolution was the Governments partiality. There were no Naxals then.
Who doesn’t know that the powers that are used to the stealing of Telangana resources and neglecting Telangana for the past 48 years want to continue to do the same, and are using Naxals as an excuse? Otherwise why would the Government that started talks as a response to people’s wishes is throwing stones in the talks process?

Congress at UPA is playing with peoples' life in Telangana and AP. Why not decide the matter once and for all??? It may be helping Tamil Nadu to get benefits of the agitation in AP??!! Say YES or NO to the issue so that everybody will have time to decide what to do!!

The mindless, heartless attitude towards the very long pending Telengana issue is yet another example of the Congress Party's total disregard for the concerns and sentiments of the people. It is vital for the nation's integrity that the Union Government should without further delay create the Telengana State and thus fulfil the aspirations of the people there. The Centre should also set up a new States Reorganization Commission to delve deeply into the ethnic agitations in the country. They should allow for the flowering of a real Federal Structure in India by opening up opportunities for the formation of new states respecting resurgent ethnic aspirations and then their spontaneous coming together into a vibrant Union of Indian States. This approach alone can bring real emotional and national integration in the country.

from centuries their culture, life style, food habits are different we donot have common between us.they already looted hyderabad and try to llot whole telangana.

we have all the possible natural resoures like water(krishna nad godhavari) singareni coal mines(NTPC ramgundam).but we donot have drinking and powerbut they water for all the three crops and 24hrs power.its case of clear discrimination.

Culture, food habits, style, dialect, slang changes from district to district not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in all other states of our country. Does that mean we create as many states as we have districts. This is really illogical and people have been emotionally carried away by the politicians for their benefit. May be afetr the telengana state is formed if at all then the realities will strike them. It is the same old tricks played by politicians to paint somebody of other region as the culprit for all ills and reap benefits out of the emotionally charged people. What natural resources was telengana having which was looted by others? give an objective thought. Like all other states urbanisation and development got concentrated in and around the capital of the state. Same thing happened in Hyderabad. Capital from all corners of state had flowed into Hyderabad and we see the result. In case other states formed earlier they had one thing in common. The region was away from the undivided state capital and the region had abundant natural resources but least development like in Chattisgarh in earstwhile MP and Jharkahand in earstwhile Bihar. There is no comparision with telengana. Telengana state is being asked only out of emotions and no other valid reason.

When there are resourses by having such a big land this various party people cannot improve. How can we imagine this if the resourses are divided they will do. While Anna hazare is doing his anti corruption strike no leader came forward to support. Corruption is the first primary cause that the state and people cannot improve through this years. The common public are either are not foolish or becoming foolish.

The Congress and UPA is no doubt playing with this issue in order to give benefits to Tamilnadu as most of the investors will opt to that state instead of Andhra Pradesh. The people from telengana and Andhra Pradesh is suffering a lot without peace. The issue racked with the declaration of Cdimbaram during last December otherwise everything was peaceful during the time of late YSR.It is better now to decide the issue forever by having joint discussions with both fractions like concillation proceedings without further delay.Definitely both parties will come to an amicable solution how to divide everything without loss to both parties.
