Vincent Hancock Biography
The 23-year-old Hancock has already built an impressive resume that includes a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics, and he’ll seek to repeat as men’s skeet shooting champ in London. The U.S. Army sergeant and marksmanship unit member won his first world title at just 16 years old and was named the ISSF’s shooter of the year in 2005. He earned another world championship in 2009. During his first Olympic appearance in Beijing, Hancock won his gold medal in a shoot-off with Norway’s Tore Brovold. He also set an Olympic record by breaking 121 targets in qualifying, and currently shares the top overall score in history (145) with Brovold. Hancock is one of five men to shoot a perfect 150, earning that score during a World Cup event in 2007. He’s been runner-up in three World Cup finals, and is a two-time gold medalist at the Pan Am Games.
