Ocean And Beyond enjoys a clear edge

Calcutta: The stage is set to decide the champion among champions. It is certainly a clash of titans in the 2,000m Indian Champion Cup, a Grade-I race, which takes the centrestage in Wednesday's eight-event card. The race has been strongly represented from all parts of the country and barring the lone fair sex, Abriella, in the eight-horse line-up, the rest boast of winning at least one Derby in their vintage years. However, the form, age, recent workouts and fitness points to the winning chances trainers Vijay Singh's Dandified, Patrick Quinn's Ocean And Beyond and Irfan Ghatala' Toroloco. Among the three, the western Indian's challenger, Ocean And Beyond appears to have a decisive edge over the other two named thoroughbreds and the six-year-old horse, by Kingsalsa out of Sayuri, may score in the hands of Suraj Narredu.
