London, Oct 15 (ANI): Swedish inventors have come up with an innovative helmet for cyclists - a neck airbag to protect them in case of a crash.
It is a collar disguising a protective cushion that inflates in 0.1 secs to cover the head, the Sun reported.
The Hovding collar also avoids dreaded helmet hair.
When sensors detect unusual body movements seconds before an accident, a helmet-shaped bag inflates around the head.
Designers Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin, who spent six years creating the device, said research showed cyclists wanted an invisible helmet.
"The protection should keep the sense of freedom that goes with cycling and not ruin your hair," the Sun quoted Terese as saying.
It comes with a price tag of 370 pounds, but the cost could fall if it goes into mass-production. (ANI)
