No public party to celebrate JTHJ success: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai, Nov. 22 -- Since the premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ), everyone wants to ask Shah Rukh Khan one thing - whether or not he and Salman Khan have really patched up. He clarifies, briefly but sharply, besides talking about his upcoming films Chennai Express and Happy New Year, while launching a new theme park for kids in the city.

Are there plans of a success party for JTHJ?

Maybe I'll call the actors, Adi (Aditya Chopra) and others home one day. The film stems from a slightly sad place, so we'll simply hug each other for having made a good film. We won't have a public party, which is a fad.

There were reports about patch up between Salman (Khan) and you.

Aisa kuch bhi nahin hai (There's nothing like that)... koi patch up XYZ ke saath. I too read that in the papers.

We've never seen this locket you are now wearing. It seems special.

It has the prayer my mum used to tell me to keep under my pillow. Someone gave it to me 10 days ago. It wards off nightmares. I have no such problems, as I don't sleep anyway. It's got my parents' picture. I'll wear it for a few days.

You start shooting for Chennai Express soon. Will we see you doing stunts, as Rohit Shetty's films are known for them?

I like Rohit's style. I like the mayhem and the madness. Chennai Express is a romantic comedy and a fast-paced one. And if Rohit doesn't blow up some cars, I'll be angry with him (smiles). I have shot for 25 days for the film already.

There have been several rumours surrounding Happy New Year. What's the status?

Happy New Year (HNY) is a Farah Khan kind of film. It's a comic caper. It has seven main characters - some playing good, others playing bad guys. We'd hoped to be ready by New Year to launch the poster, but I don't think we are. We haven't designed it yet. Inshallah, in a few months, we will make an announcement.

You have invested in a new business venture, Kidzania. Why now?

I tell people that if you want to appeal to the universal emotion in the world, appeal to the child in people. With Kidzania, I feel I am adding to the growth of kids. Kids today are well-informed, at times too informed. You need to channelise that information. Kidzania is going to do that. I never think of any business short term, because I want the end result to bring more than money. I can put money in power plants, oil, or any other businesses, but I feel I should do a business which is entertaining and spreads smiles.
