New Delhi, March 9 -- Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar is set to move to Kerala in March as part of a gubernatorial reshuffle finalized by the home ministry.
Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bharadwaj has been holding additional charge of Kerala after MOH Farooq went on leave due to illness in January last year. Farooq died a few days later.
Kumar - who joined the Congress after his retirement from the Indian Police Service - was earlier police commissioner and headed the National Security Guard. He has spent over three years in Nagaland.
Former Nagaland chief minister SC Jamir would be appointed to Odisha, in place of
Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare who completed his five year term in October last year.
In his first stint as Governor, Jamir had occupied the key constitutional office in Goa and Maharashtra. Besides, he had also held additional charge of Gujarat for six months in 2009.
There is no word on a change in guard at the Arunachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan; former army chief General JJ Singh too has completed his tenure this January.
