It's time for movie connoisseurs to plan a re-union with one of India's favourite legendary film in November with the cult classic JAANE BHI DO YAARO revisiting the theatres! NFDC Cinemas of India in association with PVR Director's Rare will re-release the digitally restored version of Kundan Shah's film on 2nd November, 2012, exclusively across PVR Cinemas in 11 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Gurgaon. The film will be released in 2K projection.A dark satire on the rampant corruption in Indian politics, bureaucracy, news media and business. The film comprises an ensemble cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, Bhakti Barve and Neena Gupta. Released in 1983, the film resonated very well with the audiences for its superb satirical depiction of the essential, timeless, human condition, supreme self-interest and some moral/ethical anchor.
Commenting on the occasion, Director of the film, Kundan Shah, said, "Hats off to NFDC and PVR Director's Rare for taking this initiative to re-release my film again. I am very excited and hoping that the audiences are as excited as well to watch JAANE BHI DO YAARO in theatres!

Director Kundan Shah won the Indira Gandhi Award for the Best First Film as a Director in 1984. The film was also a part of the NFDC Retrospective at India International Film Festival in 2006.
