New Delhi/ Kota, June 24 (ANI): The Prime Ministerial candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during the General elections in 2014 would be declared by mutual consensus, NDA convenor and Janata Dal -United (JD-U) chief Sharad Yadav said in New Delhi on Sunday.
Clearing the air over the alleged rift between the BJP and the JD-U, Yadav said that his party echoed the opinion of their coalition partners on the decision being taken by the NDA.
"The BJP spokesperson has repeatedly stated that the party's parliamentary board and the NDA will decide. I completely back this decision and this is the core issue," he said.
Meanwhile, in Kota, senior Congress leader, Digvijay Singh complimented the JD-U for supporting the candidature of Pranab Mukherjee in the Presidential election.
"The decision Nitish Kumar takes within his party is his prerogative but all we can do is appreciate and acknowledge the support shown by JD-U to Pranab Mukherjee as the presidential candidate," Singh said. (ANI)
